Situated in the heart of the Itchen valley, a public house has been trading on this site since the 16th century. Now known as the Chestnut Horse, the pub oozes character - boasting open fires, log burners and old-world charm. A warm welcome awaits you in this Family run pub that offers something for all generations, from old time classics to new and exciting flavours.

Modernised Pub Classics

Within a Traditional British country pub we believe you should find those wholesome and flavoursome meals of times gone by. Whilst also tantilising the tastebuds of those who dare to dream, from plates of vegan heaven to the truly fantastic British Steak with the finest homemade peppercorn sauce the food served here at The Chestnut Horse really does challenge generations to come together over their shared love of food.

Fine Wines and Dorset Beers

As a Family pub run pub dedicated to our local villages we want to be able to serve you with a wide selection of wines and spirits for all tastes. From the rich Gamay grapes from France to the zesty yet balanced Cortese grapes of Italy.

With a hearty collection of Dorset beers on offer from the morish and malty Fursty Ferret to the crisp and hoppy Unlocked Lager, there is a great selection for all.

Host at the Chestnut Horse

One of the best things about the Chestnut Horse is our fantastic and glamorous terrace…a great place to meet friends and enjoy a drink in glorious Hampshire sunshine.  During the winter months we can also arrange private space in our intimate Library and larger but quirky Dining Room.
