Having managed The Chestnut Horse for the previous 7 years, on July
11th 2006 Karen took a six year tenancy with Hall & woodhouse who purchased
the freehold of the building on this same date.
"This has never been just a job to me it is a way of life, and
even more so now that it is mine. I want my team to be recognised by
the general public for making The Chestnut Horse what it is to day –
one of the best country pub/restaurants in Hampshire."
Sarah knows The Chestnut Horse like the back of her hand and is an
invaluable member of the team. She is ever increasing her knowledge
of the trade by completing industry awards.
Cathy is our longest standing member of staff. Monday to Friday lunchtimes
are not the same without her. A perfectionist in every aspect of her
job. Admire her flower arrangements around the pub!
Boasting a brigade of 5 fully qualified chefs the atmosphere in the kitchen exuberates a hunger for innovative ideas using the highest quality food sourced as locally as possible.
Neil won the Hampshire Chef of the Year Award in 2006, this is reflected
in every aspect of his work. Having worked in several well known hotels
on the south coast he joined us in 2005 to take our culinary offer to
another level.
Peter has been in the industry for 30 years and his knowledge reflects
this. He has a passion for classic English dishes whilst exciting our
customers by creating the best curries in the land!
Alongside our full time members of staff we have some 20 others who enable us to maintain our high standards. The Chestnut Horse would not be what it is today without the commitment of all our part time mebers of staff from the cleaners to waiting assistants.
